Your home away from home
This sweet farmhouse set in the Kona coffee belt and surrounded by working coffee farms, is a unique little pocket of "old Hawaii." Our neighboring acreages are nestled in between newer developments, Kealakekua township and one of the largest coffee farms on the island. You are minutes away from a quaint little town and yet will feel completely out in the country.
We live near the guesthouse but you have complete privacy. The keyless-entry system allows you to come and go easily without us. If we are not at home to welcome you personally when you arrive, we will stop by at some point at the beginning of your stay to orient you and answer any questions you may have. We have lots of recommendations for dining and activities, and we are just a call, text or holler away if you need anything. Many of our guests enjoy a personalized farm tour, and we will let you know what aspects of the farm are accessible for both walking and harvesting while you are here. Enjoy freshly-picked seasonal fruit with your breakfast!
The screened-in lanai is the highlight of the house and a perfect place to lounge with a good book, watch the sunset with a tropical cocktail, or work remotely in an office with a view. Make this cottage your own personal retreat!
This comfortable farm cottage is tastefully decorated and fully stocked for "home away from home" convenience. We provide all the necessary amenities you may need to get completely settled in.
You will have kitchen amenities and a grill outside for home-cooked meals. The two comfortable bedrooms are each equipped with an overhead fan so you can maintain your optimal temperature. There is also a twin-sized sofa bed in the living room ideally set up for a family with three kids that needs an extra sleeping space. We have a washer dryer available if you need it.
The farm is just 1/4 mi (0.4km) downhill from the Mamalahoa Hwy. and close to the shops, cafes, banks and post office of Kealakekua. Our road is very bumpy and a little steep. Most rental cars can make it but we recommend an 4x4 or crossover vehicle for best access to our farm and the island overall. We don't recommend a low-riding convertible, as it may have difficulties accessing the farm.
The Big Island has a variety of activities including beaches, snorkeling, diving, surfing, volcano and old lava flows, waterfalls and rainforest. Some of these places are hard to reach and require your own 4x4 vehicle, while others are main destinations with easy access. We are a 15 min drive to the beaches and snorkeling of Kealakekua Bay and 20 min from downtown Kailua Kona depending on traffic. We are in a central location to explore both North and South of the Kona Coast. It is a 2 hour drive down to Volcano National park and a 2 hour drive to Hilo over the Saddle Road. Many other beautiful beaches up north are a 30-60 min drive. If you have time, then exploring the nooks and crannies of the island will yield its special treasures!
We are currently booking both shorter term as well as month-long stays with additional services such as scuba certifications, guided shore dives, surf lessons and personalized wellness plans coming soon. Please contact us today to book your own private retreat!
